What to Include
Make the referral useful
The more context we have, the better we can prepare the patient's consultation. None of this is mandatory — even a name and phone number is enough to get started.
Patient Details
Name, date of birth, contact information, preferred clinic location.
Reason for Referral
Brief clinical context — what you've seen, what you suspect, what you'd like us to evaluate.
Imaging
Recent CBCT, periapicals, or panoramic radiographs if available. Encrypted email or secure file transfer accepted.
Medical History
Relevant medications, conditions, and prior dental work — saves the patient repeating information.
Treatment Constraints
Any insurance limits, timing requirements, or specific patient preferences we should know about.
Communication Preference
How you'd like updates returned — email summary, phone call, written letter, or all three.
What Happens Next
After we receive the referral.
Same-day acknowledgement. You receive an email confirming we received the referral, who will handle the case, and an estimated timeline for the consultation.
Patient contact. Our treatment coordinator reaches out to the patient within one business day to schedule a free consultation at the clinic you specified — or whichever MyBite clinic is most convenient for them.
Consultation. Your patient meets with one of our denturists for a no-charge assessment. We capture intraoral scan data, discuss options, and provide a written treatment plan with cost estimate.
Treatment planning correspondence. You receive a written summary of the consultation findings, our recommended plan, and any coordination needed on your end — typically within 2–3 business days.
Throughout treatment. We keep you in the loop on key milestones (surgery, prosthetic delivery, follow-up). At the end of the case, you receive a written summary for your records.
Referring to Kelowna — what colleagues ask
We accept referrals for any denture or implant-prosthetic case — complete dentures, partial dentures, implant-supported overdentures, All-on-4/6, complex full-mouth reconstruction. Implant surgical placement is coordinated with our surgical partners; prosthetic design and delivery happens at MyBite.
Default is a written summary by email after consultation, again after treatment planning is finalized, and at the conclusion of treatment. We can adjust to your preference — phone, fax, encrypted email, or formal letter.
Yes. If you've worked with a particular MyBite denturist before or know of one by reputation, name them in the referral and we'll route the case accordingly when possible.
